What to Expect
Our practice offers patients a one-of-a-kind experience when undergoing a filling procedure. Prior to the procedure, the patient's tooth will be photographed and measured to create a filling that is comfortable and matches the shade of the tooth. The filling, made of resin, is then bonded to the tooth. The procedure seeks to create a filling that fits each patient's unique tooth structure and covers the entire area that needs protection. This procedure can cause minor pain and discomfort, so most patients will not be able to immediately return to their regular routines.
Treatment Aftercare
After a filling procedure, patients will need time, at least 1 – 3 hours, to allow the anesthesia to wear off before they can leave our office. Patients should be cautious in talking or chewing so they do not bite the inside of their mouth or tongue while the area is numb. The gums may also be tender or sore at the injection site, but this will subside in a day or so. The tooth or teeth will be sensitive to hot or cold liquids or food for a short time; this is normal and temporary. Should patients feel any extreme discomfort or unevenness in the tooth after the anesthesia has worn off, they should call our office immediately. Patients should not expect to receive any medication or special instructions unless directed by our dentists during their consultation or post-surgery exam.

She was incredibly thorough and took the time to explain what she was measuring, what gum pocket depths mean, and how everything related to my overall dental health. She was completely non-judgmental, which I truly appreciated since it had been over a year since my last cleaning.Cassie took all of my X-rays and was super sweet, making the whole process comfortable and easy. They also did a free oral cancer screening, which I’ve never had done before and thought was such a thoughtful extra level of care.I later came back for three fillings, and Dr. Wong and Cassie took amazing care of me. They were thorough, efficient, and had such a gentle touch. I really appreciated that they didn’t let me see the needle while numbing me, and they explained the process clearly without over-explaining or overwhelming me.On top of all that, I loved the comfort details: great music, a neck pillow, and being asked what I wanted to watch on TV while they worked on my teeth.
